First Thoughts

In this project, I would like to choose the theme Earthly Delight, because one of my hobbies is doing outdoor activities, specially exploring nature in the countryside, also I would like to express my personal experience, thought, and funny story in my journey.

I will be incorporate Earthly Delights by designing, adventurer style outfits with nature, animals and some personal outdoor memories to create, unique pattern and colour scheme.

When I first looking at the theme, Earthly Delight, it immediately make me think of alice the wonderland, because every time I visiting a new area, it will give me a mysterious and wonderful dreamy feeling that give me excitation to explore the unknown nature in the countryside.


When I first look at the theme Purple Haze, I have immediately pops up in my head of royalty and religion, it give me some idea of designing vintage elegant style outfit, combining with modern element and also by including historical and religion pattern or symbol.

Even though I have taken some picture from Liverpool Museum (St. George’s Quarter), it can help me to develop new idea that, are relate to the theme of Purple Haze, but I really want to combining my hobby, and express personal experience in my fashion collection, I think this will generate more unique idea and create more sparkle, and every design I made will have a unique story behind, so that I choose the theme Earthly Delight.

    Can you discuss 'First thoughts' on all themes, so perhaps discuss why you are NOT choosing the other two themes. This will show you have considered the three themes on the brief and how you could explore these through your progression route. It is good for your blog development to show how you eliminated the other two themes and how your ideas for 'Purple Haze' are the strongest.

Peter Pilotto: Fashion Sea Collection Research

I am looking at the Peter Pilotto 2012 spring collection for my fashion project. Peter Pilotto is a brand established in 2007 by Peter Piotto and Christopher  De Vos.  Their Spring 2012 undersea collection was inspired by their trip to Indonesia. Look 1: The outfit shows the theme of the underwater world by using sharp and slim waistline cutting. The fish scale-like pattern makes the model looks like a mermaid. The pencil skirt fits tightly to the body and looks like the tale of a mermaid. The cutting of the outfit looks like a fish and uses colours related to the underwater theme. Fannie Schiavoni Artist Research

Fannie Schiavoni born in Sweden, when Schiavoni turned 18 she moved to London and studied tailoring in London college of fashion, her tailoring and traditional hand crafting technique background helped her to develop unique methods to design chainmail accessories. State by The Cool Hour (n.d.) Her design had been appreciated by famous artists including Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Katey Perry, she had also collaborated with designers such as Alexander Vauthier and Matthew Miller et cetera. Schiavoni had started up a fashion brand called Fannie Schiavoni in London in 2009, Fannie Schiavoni is a brand known for creating party dresses by using the brand signature material such as metal mesh and chainmail.
