Elisabetta Franchi

Elisabetta Franchi was born in 1968. She has 4 brothers and sisters and comes from a humble family. Her strong single mother had to overcome financial problems to raise them on her own. The job that she had as a sales girl taught her to pay attention to what customers want and listen to their needs, laying the foundation for her successful fashion business

 Elisabetta Franchi’s Spring-Summer 2022 collection is about a woman who loves to travel, a dreamer with an adventurous mind, someone who would explore the world and visit new places. The collection included garments that people would wear on a safari trip, using natural, earthy colour tones and also animal prints. 

 I had a similar concept with her spring summer 2022 collection based on the theme adventure. Her concept is based on a woman, who has a brave attitude and an interest in traveling, dreaming and exploring, the collection is also inspired by the changes of the environment to help to develop her imagination. Similar to Elisabetta Franchi’s theme, I have a curious and risk taking personality, and have a passion for different outdoor activities like caving, mountaineering and tracking. This makes me want to create a project that explores these elements.

This is one of my favorite looks from her collection, I love the multiple and oversized pockets on her jacket. This feature suits the theme of exploration well and it also fits the trend, brands like Givenchy, Miu Miu and Isabel Marant also include multiple sets pockets in their designs this season. I also love the pleats and the patch pocket on her outfit, I think that it gives an extra layer and volume to the look. Lastly she created different accessories and jewelry like the ear rings and gloves that was inspired by the adventure of spirit from muse.

Reflection for Art Portfolio two

Overall in Art Portfolio Two, I learned different methods of research such as secondary and primary research, it helped me to get inspiration and develop ideas to improve the outcomes. Also, it helped me have a better understanding of the fashion market and the ideal customer needs. I think the secondary and primary research skills and techniques have really helped me this term to improve my overall portfolio quality. For example, walking around the campus or the local area allowed me to get inspiration and develop ideas by looking at shapes, colour, and the natural environment around me. Also, I visited the fabric shop in person which allowed me to have a better understanding of how different fabrics work and what qualities they have.  In this term, whilst doing secondary research for fashion trends and artist research, I took more care in learning new information which helped me to develop my work. Photoshop Process of my Portfolio

 I began to create my portfolio, so I had my final designs and I knew how I wanted my Space Rangers collection to look.   I began by opening Photoshop and creating a blank A3 sized canvas with 300 resolution.  I did this just be clicking on File - New - Print  and then A3.   I then wanted to add my background which was a Space image I got from unsplash.  So I clicked on File - Open and then I chose the jpg image I had on my desktop.  I then clicked on Image - Image Rotation and 90 degrees counter clockwise as I needed the image to be portraits and I wanted the composition of the planets to compliment my design.  I then clicked on Select All, Then copy and then I clicked back onto my blank canvas and clicked on past. I used the move tool and clicked onto the transform controls and dragged the background over the canvas to create my portfolio backdrop. I then added the logo which we copied and pasted from my previous portfolio for consistency.  I then added the title of my collection
