Research myself

In the research myself exercise, we have try think of our own history and experience, for example childhood, teenage years, personality and what is your bigger decision that you make in your life, that change your path and make you become you, and also who inspired you in your life, and why are you choosing this subject.

I am borne in Hong Kong it is a big and crowd city, in my first memory in my childhood, I had playing with my favourite rabbit doll called Mary, when I am little I always thought Mary is my sister, so that every time I play and travel I will bring Mary together with me. One of my childhood dream job is being a Lego designer, because my biggest hobby is building Lego and create different interesting building, vehicle, spacecraft and in one day, someone wants to buy the space vehicle I had created, he think this is a product that designed by Lego, because of that it encourage me to be a Lego designer in the future.

In my teenage years, I had do a biggest decision in my life, that change my path and make me become me now, it is studying abroad to the UK in year nine, it really give me a lot of life experience, and make me grow up a lot, previously I am a person that really rely on my parents and friends, so that I often got homesick but I am really lucky that, I got really nice friends, teacher, house master and chef to support and encourage me, when I am struggling so that those people, is a really important part in my life also I got a lot of opportunity to visit different area in the UK, by joining a lot of school trip and visiting different halls family, in different area also my school had offer a lot of different outdoor activities for example caveing , tracking, mountaineering, camping, sailing and kayaking in the countryside, it is quite mind blowing to me because I used to live in a city, I didn’t know that countryside is a really beautiful place to visit.

Reflection for Art Portfolio two

Overall in Art Portfolio Two, I learned different methods of research such as secondary and primary research, it helped me to get inspiration and develop ideas to improve the outcomes. Also, it helped me have a better understanding of the fashion market and the ideal customer needs. I think the secondary and primary research skills and techniques have really helped me this term to improve my overall portfolio quality. For example, walking around the campus or the local area allowed me to get inspiration and develop ideas by looking at shapes, colour, and the natural environment around me. Also, I visited the fabric shop in person which allowed me to have a better understanding of how different fabrics work and what qualities they have.  In this term, whilst doing secondary research for fashion trends and artist research, I took more care in learning new information which helped me to develop my work. Photoshop Process of my Portfolio

 I began to create my portfolio, so I had my final designs and I knew how I wanted my Space Rangers collection to look.   I began by opening Photoshop and creating a blank A3 sized canvas with 300 resolution.  I did this just be clicking on File - New - Print  and then A3.   I then wanted to add my background which was a Space image I got from unsplash.  So I clicked on File - Open and then I chose the jpg image I had on my desktop.  I then clicked on Image - Image Rotation and 90 degrees counter clockwise as I needed the image to be portraits and I wanted the composition of the planets to compliment my design.  I then clicked on Select All, Then copy and then I clicked back onto my blank canvas and clicked on past. I used the move tool and clicked onto the transform controls and dragged the background over the canvas to create my portfolio backdrop. I then added the logo which we copied and pasted from my previous portfolio for consistency.  I then added the title of my collection
