Welcome to art portfolio two term three

In this term, I would like to achieve to create a fashion collection physically, and improve my overall digital skills for example using Photoshop to finalise my fashion sketches and learn more setting in Wix to improve the overall design and layout in the website, also I would like to improve my blog by recording my development and creating process so that it can show different stages clearly.

In this term, I would like to improve my overall research skills and quality, because last term I had lack of research also I just research things really briefly and not detailed enough, for example I didn’t research the colour and fabric properly in earlier terms so in this term, I would look at the colour theory more deeply so that it can support me to find out the best colour combination for my collection, also this time I will more consider when I choosing the material, for example, the texture is it comfortable to wear, prices, location and transport, also in this term I will read more books about Photoshop to help me to improve my overall Photoshop skills.

In this term it is heavily required in 3-D crafting skills so that I need to learn and develop new skills relate to fashion design, for example learning different technique and setting on the sewing machine, handsewing, drawing pattern, how to measure a mannequin also understand how different fabric work when I choosing the material.

Over the break I had look at a book called drape drape 3, it is about how to draw and measur pattern also I learned by folding the fabric can create different layering and texture off clothing, and it give me some idea and concept also I had look at some fashion magazine to help improve my fashion illustration by copying and draw the model and the outfit for 5 to 10 minutes each, it help me to improve the sketching speed and more understand the model proportion.

Peter Pilotto: Fashion Sea Collection Research

I am looking at the Peter Pilotto 2012 spring collection for my fashion project. Peter Pilotto is a brand established in 2007 by Peter Piotto and Christopher  De Vos.  Their Spring 2012 undersea collection was inspired by their trip to Indonesia. Look 1: The outfit shows the theme of the underwater world by using sharp and slim waistline cutting. The fish scale-like pattern makes the model looks like a mermaid. The pencil skirt fits tightly to the body and looks like the tale of a mermaid. The cutting of the outfit looks like a fish and uses colours related to the underwater theme. The outfit looks eye-catching because the colour combination of the blue, purple and white colour gives the fish scales a textured look, which looks like they shimmer in the sun. The whole outfit looks sporty, the sleeveless top and the zipper in the middle of the top make it looks like a swimsuit. Fannie Schiavoni Artist Research

Fannie Schiavoni born in Sweden, when Schiavoni turned 18 she moved to London and studied tailoring in London college of fashion, her tailoring and traditional hand crafting technique background helped her to develop unique methods to design chainmail accessories. State by The Cool Hour (n.d.) Her design had been appreciated by famous artists including Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Katey Perry, she had also collaborated with designers such as Alexander Vauthier and Matthew Miller et cetera. Schiavoni had started up a fashion brand called Fannie Schiavoni in London in 2009, Fannie Schiavoni is a brand known for creating party dresses by using the brand signature material such as metal mesh and chainmail.
