 Theme Idea: Spiders From Mars



Normally when people think off space theme outfit is having a modern and sleek style, and because I want to do something different, so that I had a idea of combining space outfit with steampunk style element and by adding pipes, blocky body waist and old fashion steam gauge to create the look off the early days technology, and the main colour scheme will be brown, bronze and khaki colour.




In the second idea I had inspired by the movie Star Wars, there have a character called R2D2 he had a function to project people in a 3-D form, in this idea I would like to create a pixel, like transparent shaping outfit, to create a modern high-technology and mystery vibe outfit.




The third idea is about gravity because in the space there are no gravity, so that the outfit will flip and moving around in space, and I want to create a style of outfit that looks like there are no gravity floating around on your body freely, so that I will be creating oversize cutting outfit to allow more movement looking, and by using tougher fabric and material to hold shape in place and create the look of floating around freely.




The fourth idea is using constellation shape to create different pattern on the outfit, also it inspired me to using different constellation shape concept to create different unique cutting and shaping for the outfit.




The fifth idea is inspired by a ancient Chinese legend, about a man called Hou Yi that shoot down nine sun and make the world turn back to normal so that the people elected him to be the king, but Hou Yi become a arrogant king and really harsh to people also he want to live forever, and he had find two pills of medicine that can allowed him and his wife to live forever, but his wife think that Hou Yi is a harsh king so that she stole both pills and eat it, but because one people only can take one pills but she eaten two so that she suddenly start floating and fly to the moon, and this story had inspire me to combine ancient Chinese style outfit element to the space outfit.

Peter Pilotto: Fashion Sea Collection Research

I am looking at the Peter Pilotto 2012 spring collection for my fashion project. Peter Pilotto is a brand established in 2007 by Peter Piotto and Christopher  De Vos.  Their Spring 2012 undersea collection was inspired by their trip to Indonesia. Look 1: The outfit shows the theme of the underwater world by using sharp and slim waistline cutting. The fish scale-like pattern makes the model looks like a mermaid. The pencil skirt fits tightly to the body and looks like the tale of a mermaid. The cutting of the outfit looks like a fish and uses colours related to the underwater theme. The outfit looks eye-catching because the colour combination of the blue, purple and white colour gives the fish scales a textured look, which looks like they shimmer in the sun. The whole outfit looks sporty, the sleeveless top and the zipper in the middle of the top make it looks like a swimsuit. Fannie Schiavoni born in Sweden, when Schiavoni turned 18 she moved to London and studied tailoring in London college of fashion, her tailoring and traditional hand crafting technique background helped her to develop unique methods to design chainmail accessories. State by The Cool Hour (n.d.) Her design had been appreciated by famous artists including Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Katey Perry, she had also collaborated with designers such as Alexander Vauthier and Matthew Miller et cetera. Schiavoni had started up a fashion brand called Fannie Schiavoni in London in 2009, Fannie Schiavoni is a brand known for creating party dresses by using the brand signature material such as metal mesh and chainmail.
