Reflection for Art Portfolio two

Image
Overall in Art Portfolio Two, I learned different methods of research such as secondary and primary research, it helped me to get inspiration and develop ideas to improve the outcomes. Also, it helped me have a better understanding of the fashion market and the ideal customer needs. I think the secondary and primary research skills and techniques have really helped me this term to improve my overall portfolio quality. For example, walking around the campus or the local area allowed me to get inspiration and develop ideas by looking at shapes, colour, and the natural environment around me. Also, I visited the fabric shop in person which allowed me to have a better understanding of how different fabrics work and what qualities they have.  In this term, whilst doing secondary research for fashion trends and artist research, I took more care in learning new information which helped me to develop my work. Whereas last term I found it harder to engage with the research and I got more out of

Wix Website Final Portfolio

Image
I finalised all my work on the portfolio and now I am adding this to my gallery on Wix website.  I began by clicking on the gallery and then 'manage media' and then I could upload my jpeg pages for portfolio.  After adding the images I changed all the titles so that I had a good title when the images was clicked and opened on the site.  I also rearranged the order of the portfolio so it was correct.  I did this just be dragging and dropping on Wix. I added a new image from my new collection to the portfolio front page.  This image was Look Four and I used the auto cut out to remove the background on Wix so that it worked well with my other images.  I also added a button and changed the font to Libre Baskerville and the background to space. I linked this up to open on my Space Rangers page. I then checked the mobile view and as the buttons were not quite in the right places I dragged the buttons underneath the images and reset the title and lined up all the images to ensure the

Photoshop Process of my Portfolio

Image
I began to create my portfolio, so I had my final designs and I knew how I wanted my Space Rangers collection to look.   I began by opening Photoshop and creating a blank A3 sized canvas with 300 resolution.  I did this just be clicking on File - New - Print  and then A3.   I then wanted to add my background which was a Space image I got from unsplash.  So I clicked on File - Open and then I chose the jpg image I had on my desktop.  I then clicked on Image - Image Rotation and 90 degrees counter clockwise as I needed the image to be portraits and I wanted the composition of the planets to compliment my design.  I then clicked on Select All, Then copy and then I clicked back onto my blank canvas and clicked on past. I used the move tool and clicked onto the transform controls and dragged the background over the canvas to create my portfolio backdrop. I then added the logo which we copied and pasted from my previous portfolio for consistency.  I then added the title of my collection

Capped sleeve cropped top final

Image
On the final cropped top I created a pattern which I measured out for the sized of an average size 10 which was the size of the mannequin.  The sizes were:  36" bust 14" length of top I added 12 hem/seam allowance and cut out the pattern using pattern cutting paper. We pinned the pattern paper first and then cut out the material.  Then we pinned the hems ready to sew on the sewing machine which was a little more challenging with the sequinned material.  I then made sure the back and front lined up correctly and then I needed to sew the seams so I did this inside out so that the seam would not show on the finished piece.  I pinned the seam and left the arm holes and matched up the length on each side.  I completed all of the hems and seams and on this design I had two pieces for the back as I am going to add buttons to bring these together.  I completed all the final seams and made sure that everything was accurate and ready for the model or mannequin for final showcase of th

Art portfolio ideal customer mock

Image
In the ideal customer mock up, I had look at number of space related background and trying out different fonts and colour, than I tried out different lay out for the ideal customer page with a imagine target customer image. Overall, I really like the purple space background with two planets it add a bit of sparkle, also I think the lights purple colour words compliment with the background really well. However I may consider to change the fonts to a more futuristic style, and also I will like to remove the background of the ideal customer image.
